Sue Boucher
Sue was raised in Fair Oaks and has lived in Carmichael for almost 40 years. She is a frequent visitor to her local parks along with her spouse Dave and their two dogs Gretchen and Ollie. She is honored to support Carmichael Parks and the recreational programs offered by the Park District by serving as a board member for the Carmichael Parks Foundation.
Duane Faitel
Duane is a very happy and proud resident of Carmichael. He loves living near the mountains, parks, lakes and rivers to pursue his outdoor passions as an avid, snow skiier, mountain biker and sailer.
Duane is the owner and president of D Net Marketing, an internet marketing company he founded in 2010 to serve local business owners with a professional and effective online presence. He is the webmaster for the foundation and is assisting the board with marketing efforts.
Ken Hall
Ken’s career has included service in the State Capitol and development of a firm, School Services of California, to serve the business side of public schools throughout the state. The non profit Carmichael Parks Foundation Board is a great way for Ken to give back to his community.

Gary Hursh
Gary is currently a member of a committee to create a Property and Business Improvement District (PBID) for Carmichael to improve its business environment. Gary was previously a member of the Carmichael Community Action Plan and the Fair Oaks Boulevard Concept Plan Committee, which developed plans to revitalize the business community in Carmichael. Gary is a past President of the Carmichael Chamber of Commerce, a former appointed member of the Sacramento Policy Planning Commission, and a former elected member of the Board of Director of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District.
Michael Koerner
Served for 9 years on Carmichael Recreation and Park District Advisory Board, founder and/or board member of several community-based organizations, member of Carmichael Kiwanis Club and Euphonium player with Capitol Pops Concert Band. Currently an assistant coach for granddaughters Carmichael Stingers soccer team and second grade classroom volunteer at Cameron Ranch School.
Donna Miller
She has been part of Kiwanis, neighborhood associations.
Linda Martin
She is the immediate past president of the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael and in this role she has worked in collaboration with the Carmichael Recreation and Park District and other community organizations in meeting the needs of the Carmichael community. She has spent her career as a strong advocate for the children and families in this area and feels blessed to have so many beautiful parks and recreation facilities in the Carmichael area. She looks forward to her participation on the Carmichael Parks Foundation Board of Directors to support these valuable resources.
Paul C. Pennington, CFP®
Paul started in financial planning in 1974 by teaching classes on financial planning, estate planning, and real estate at American River College. These classes were taught while he was in banking. In 1984, He went into financial planning full-time and has been a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) since 1986.
He received his Bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of San Francisco, an AA in general business from American River College, and teaching credentials at Sacramento State University. He graduated from the University of Colorado Graduate School of Business.
He is a principal at Pennington Financial Group in Gold River, CA, specializing in estate planning, retirement planning, tax planning, and portfolio management.
Sharon Ruffner
Sharon Ruffner and her husband Bob are lifelong Carmichael residents where both graduated from San Juan Unified District schools. Sharon retired from the San Juan Unified School District in 2014 after 37 years in the Technology Services department providing training and support. Sharon has led Fitness classes for CRPD since 1988 (including Aqua Aerobics at the now defunct beloved pool). The Ruffner home is directly across from the southwest baseball diamond at Carmichael Park where they enjoy watching games year round and are members of the Adcote Way neighborhood watch.
Peter Tateishi
In January of 2015, Peter became President and CEO of the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce where he is responsible for the long-term planning, administration and management of the operation activities, personnel and programs. He has been a lifelong resident of the Sacramento region where he has seen the region grow and prosper.
Prior to his current position with the Metro Chamber, Peter has served in numerous leadership roles including CEO to the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange (SRBX), Chief of Staff to former US Congressman Dan Lungren, and numerous board and commissions including the Carmichael Recreation and Park District Board of Directors, the Carmichael/Old Foothill Farms Planning Commission and was named “Honorary Mayor of Carmichael” in 2009 and 2010.
